SuccessFactors configuration and permissions, on the record.

Configuration and permissions

Export your Employee Central configuration to workbooks, generate and apply role-based permissions, and compare instances over time. Every change that writes to SuccessFactors goes through validation, a second approver and a read-back.

In use today at a Canadian utility regulator, a Canadian municipal corporation and a global engineering firm.

From the hand-kept workbook to the live system.

  • Before: Configuration workbooks written by hand, out of date by the next release. With the platform: Workbooks exported from the live system, ready to edit and re-import.
  • Before: Permissions designed in a spreadsheet and keyed in by hand. With the platform: Permission workbooks compared with what is live and applied through a change plan.
  • Before: “What changed since the last release?” answered from memory. With the platform: Baselines captured over time and compared field by field.

What it does

Configuration workbook export

Employee Central data model, picklists, business rules, foundation objects and position settings, exported to workbooks.

Import with validation

Edit a workbook, see a field-level difference, choose what to apply, and run SAP’s own validation before anything is applied.

Role-based permissions

Blank or prefilled permission workbooks, role assignment exports, and a change plan applied to SuccessFactors.

Baselines and compare

Capture permissions, role assignments, the Employee Central data model and picklists, then compare two instances or two dates.

Instance-to-instance transfer

Preview a move of Employee Central configuration from one instance to another, and apply only what you select.

HR data audit

A library of fixed data-quality checks that run on a schedule, read-only.

Where a person decides

  • Nothing writes to SuccessFactors without a second approver.
  • A snapshot is taken before each change, and the result is read back after it.
  • Every apply is recorded in the audit trail with its change set.

Connected to the rest of the platform

A configuration change links to the ticket that asked for it, the decision behind it and the tests that cover it, so “what touches this setting?” is a lookup, not an investigation.

Questions buyers ask
