When HR and IT ask why, the person who made the decision answers.
02 · Why senior-led delivery
Senior-led delivery decides whether design intent survives the build, and whether the CHRO and the CIO can still get a straight answer two years later.
Most enterprise programs lose value in the handoffs: a partner sells the vision, a delivery lead inherits it, a support team inherits that. Each handoff costs context, and context is what makes a configuration decision correct two years later. We remove the handoffs instead of documenting around them.
What senior-led means for HR and IT
A practitioner, end to end
One senior practitioner is accountable for your outcome from the first workshop through steady-state, and you know who it is.
- No sales-to-delivery handoff
- Accountability never changes hands
- The same person in design, testing and hypercare
Decisions made in the room
Seniority means a workshop ends with a decision rather than an action item to escalate. That single difference compresses timelines more than any tool.
- Design authority present in every workshop
- Trade-offs explained with their downstream cost
- Issues surfaced early, not discovered at go-live
Global delivery, local accountability
Montréal, Toronto, Dubai and Bangalore give us the scale of a large SI. The senior practitioner model keeps the accountability where you can reach it.
- Follow-the-sun capacity for build and test
- Bilingual EN/FR delivery, Arabic across the Gulf
- We do not outsource accountability
Knowledge that stays
Knowledge transfer is a document. Knowledge retention is a delivery model: the team that made the design decisions is the team that answers for them in support.
- Decision logs, not just configuration workbooks
- Support by practitioners who know how your platform is built
- Release cycles handled as evolution, not emergencies
Where AI fits
A senior-led model works because senior people fix causes, not symptoms. In our own delivery, AI gives each project a health score with its reasons and raises risk flags a lead reviews, so senior hours go to design, risk and the conversations that need judgement.
Where the human stays accountable
AI drafts and analyses. A senior practitioner reviews, decides and signs. Nothing reaches your environment on an AI recommendation alone.
Straight answers
What does senior-led delivery actually mean?
It means the practitioner who scopes your programme is the one who designs it, and is still there at go-live and into support. One senior person is accountable for the outcome and is in the steering committee, not behind it. Junior consultants do exist on our teams, and they learn, but they learn beside someone who has done it before, not on your programme alone.
How do I choose the right SuccessFactors implementation partner?
Ask four questions of every shortlisted firm. Who exactly will be on the team, by name and by time commitment? Have those people delivered this module, in this country, under these payroll and privacy rules? What happens when the design owner leaves mid-build? And who carries it after go-live? The answers separate firms quickly, and they matter far more than the size of the logo on the proposal.
Why do SuccessFactors implementations go wrong?
Rarely because of the software. In our experience the recurring causes are design decisions taken without the people who will live with them, payroll complexity discovered late, data quality treated as a migration task rather than a business one, and a team whose senior members left after design. Each of those is a staffing and governance failure, which is why our model targets them directly.
Is a specialist firm riskier than a global integrator?
It depends on what you are worried about. A global integrator brings bench depth, procurement familiarity and a brand your board recognises. A senior-led specialist brings the people who actually do the work, continuity through the whole programme, and a shorter line between a problem and the person who can fix it. Serious evaluations weigh both. Where scale is the deciding factor we will say so.
What happens if the practitioner becomes unavailable?
We tell you, we name the replacement, and we overlap them with the outgoing practitioner rather than handing over a document. People do leave and illness happens; what we control is that the transition is visible, planned and staffed by someone of the same seniority.
Ask who would be on your program.
Ask it on the call. A senior practitioner answers, and the CHRO, the CIO or both are welcome to join.
